Destination Star Trek is an officially licensed Star Trek Event ran by Media 10 and Massive Events. They have hosted the largest conventions in Europe. The Trekkie Girls have been official bloggers to all four events so far and can be seen in panels or hosting.

The first event in London 2012 boasted all five captains in attendance and was hailed the largest Star Trek Event in attendance.  It always boasts a great lineup pulling in guests that haven’t been seen in the Star Trek convention circuit for year, such as Will Wheaton in 2016.

Over the years the event has grown it’s portfolio of sets, now including The Original Series bridge, The Next Generation Bridge, a Borg Alcove and Klingon Battle Bridge chair.

Considered an ‘event’ rather than a convention it hosts panels, costume contests, parties, a museum and trading stalls.

In 2016 the event smashed it’s own Guinness World Record of ‘The Most People Dressed as a Star Trek Character.

Guest Wish List DSTL

We wanted to bring you a post ahead of tomorrows Destination Star Trek London's guest announcements. (very excited about the competitions and announcements!)  The cast, the actors who play the characters are the focal point at conventions. The most memorable events we have been to, were organised with as much exposure to the stars as possible. On a Starship, the bridge crew wouldn't get anything done if it weren't for the redshirts, the dilithium miners and ships counsellor. That example doesn't quite parallel Star Trek in terms of Actors v Production crew as we wouldn't want to devalue their role. Lets say that the production crew are like the Admirals and Academy teachers. They set the mission and often get accused of being baddies! The writers, producers and know-it-alls are often bypassed at conventions yet they can bring so much.  Fans want to see the … Continue Reading ››

www.startreklondon.com William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula are all attending this incredible event.  From what we can see this is more than your average convention. There will be a bridge set for photos, original sets, props and stunt displays!? It promises to be interactive and more focused around the fans.  We thought that the event would be focused around the movie and are gratefully wrong, as this will have something for every fan.  Reason we love this event already: It has something for everyone. Not all Trekkies want the … Continue Reading ››

Star Trek London: Is this is a Clue!?

Ok we are getting a little obsessed with the Star Trek London mystery. In episode 14 of our vBlog we explain why we think the event is based around the new movie.
There is a visual clue on the registration website and the avatar on the Twitter Account. That is the new look insignia, native to the JJ movie.

However, take a look at the back ground on @StarTrek_London 's twitter homepage:

It's our good friend the Enterprise -D

Now are we reading too much into this? Does it mean something?
The Next Generation is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in September 2012 - coincidence? hmmm, … Continue Reading ››
