Happy Easter – from Qo’noS

Like most Trekkies, everything we learnt, we learnt from Star Trek.

So we have always been baffled by Easter, as there is no reference to it in Trek. But we have got to the bottom of it. It is about an extraordinary man whom upon his death thousands of years ago promised he would return. His teachings are still practiced today. That man was….. Kahless The Unforgettable.

Kahless foretold his resurrection in The Story of The Promise:

When Kahless united the people and gave them the laws of honor, he saw that his work was done. So one night he gathered his belongings and went to the edge of the city to say good-bye. The people wept, they did not want him to go. And Kahless said, “You are Klingons. You need no one but yourselves. I will go now, to Sto-Vo-Kor. But I promise one day I will return.” Then Kahless pointed to a star in the sky and said, “Look for me there, on that point of light.”

And Kahless did return…sort of…his clone retuned! And he united his people, for a little while.
We can’t believe that he got away with and Ardra didn’t!

But here on Earth we like to celebrate the teachings and meanings behind the words of the original Kahless. We like to gloss over those WTS (What The Spock) moments that don’t make sense. Like when they made Kahless-Clone the Emperor. We also like to forget that we used to depict him a a ruthless tyrant.

Now we celebrate this great historical figure by purchasing Tribble shaped chocolates from Ferengi stores. We stay at home and watch our beloved Star Trek.

We leave you with the Warrior’s Anthem. A Traditional song sung to Kahless when entering battle.
