Where is the USS Discovery? What is Lorca up too?

New Discovery
Star Trek Discovery restarts the second half of Season One in a matter of hours on the 7th January (US and Canada) and 8th January everywhere else on Netflix. At the end of 'Into the Forest I Go' we all saw Captain Lorca override the spore navigation drive. But where did he send them?

Discovery, Power Struggles and Romulans?

Star Trek Discovery's ninth episode "Into The Forest I Go" has left a plethora of untied threads for us fans whom, lets face it, are more accustomed to a cliffhanger revolving around whether a main character  gets their requested pay rise  dies at the end. We also haven't had any 'mid season' breaks either. For better or worse they give us a chance to reflect and do our favourite thing....SPECULATE! So what big change do we predict/want to see in the next half? I'll let Carole and Sarah speak for themselves but my (Sam's) reaction after watching episode nine was ROMULANS! Here's my logic and it's about to get Political so watch out snowflakes!

Michael Burnham and the Vulcan Connection. Spock/Uhura’s Daughter?

There's a lot of speculation of a Vulcan connection surrounding Star Trek Discovery's lead character Michael Burnham. In the trailer, it appears as if a young Burnham is raised on Vulcan. But it goes beyond those 'on point' eyebrows and pixie haircut.

In the trailer Burnham seems to talk with a Vulcan inflection at times. But she also shows emotion backing up speculation that she could be human, raised by Vulcans.
