Destination Star Trek Europe

ITS HAPPENING!Destination Star Trek Europe!  Everything we know is contained in this picture below which we stole from the www.destinationstartrek.com landing page   Now as you know, we have been arse-kissing friends with convention founders at DST since its  inception in 2012 so we intend to use our 'special relationship' to find out as much as we can and keep you up-to-date. You'll notice we got this post out rather quick, we did get like, a whole hours notice! We are humble Vorta! Now to wait until next Tuesday when the big reveal happens. We wants names and location here! The best bit about this teaser is it gives away enough to start planning. We know what weekend to keep clear and its far enough to start planning and (more importantly) start saving!

SF Ball Southampton -New Lineup

With just under two weeks to go until the hotly anticipated SF Ball at the Grand Harbour hotel Southampton, some changes have been made to the lineup. We were starting to get slightly optimistic that Jonathan Frakes might actually attend but it wasn't to be. Instead the hilarious and gorgeous Dominic Keating and Conner Trinneer from Star Trek Enterprise have stepped up to add to this Trektastic lineup that also includes Casey Biggs and Vaughn Armstrong. 12592417_1092267050837550_2915522661311239442_n.jpg Casey Biggs has spoken to organisers at SFB towers and said;
“We are very excited to be able to attend and perform for everyone at the Ball this year. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is still so strong in the minds of Star Trek fans that it's always rewarding to be able to meet and chat about the magical world of Star Trek.”
Casey Biggs will be attending the entire … Continue Reading ››

Happy New Year and the big 5-0!

We wish you a Trektastic 2016 and what a year we have ahead of us. It's astonishing to think this TV and movie series has gripped our planets attention for half a century. It makes us feel so young! We were going to write up a review about 2015 but like our spandex loving crewmates, we can't help but look forward into the future. Instead, here is what we have planned and our looking forward to in 2016. 2016.jpg SF Ball. 5th - 7th February. Grand Harbour Hotel, SouthamptonScreen Shot 2016-01-01 at 18.56.55.png Trek guests include Jonathan Frakes, Vaughn Armstrong and  Casey 'For Cardassia' Biggs. If you haven't already it worked it out.... That means the Enterprise Blues Band will also be performing! (Wonder if Frakes can actually play the Trombone?) Portal 47 with Larry Nemecek

A couple of months ago we were teased with a new project called 'Portal 47' from "The universe's renowned authority" on all things Star Trek, Larry "Dr. Trek" Nemecek. 11855879_1496528707325010_6387179218097844395_n Portal 47 is now up and running and sounds amazing! It comes across as a virtual convention. If anyone has been to one of Larry's talks or stall at a convention you will know he is a wealth of knowledge with memories, archives and friends from all series.
"Portal 47 may not be for all Trek fans but if you crave a new way to get a virtual backstage pass and hear from new voices of people who were there, like a min-con package all year long no matter where you live... Then beam aboard and deep-dive through the Portal with us!" - Larry Nemecek
But why wait to go to a convention to get … Continue Reading ››

USS Riker’s Beard Recuiting Now!

If you haven't heard of the USS Riker's Beard then shame on you and on your hoooouuuuse! The good crew of the USS Riker's Beard are a group of Trekkies who met at the first Destination Star Trek London, all sharing the same hotel. The crew had brought with them the humble beginnings of their bridge set which has been slowly added to in the intervening years. Like all great crews they quickly built a strong rapport and meshed into one superb unit. Photo 07-02-2015 12 20 45 At the first DSTL the Riker’s Beard was simply then named the USS Customs House after their hotel. They later changed to the current name a name eponymous with all things great about science fiction generally in honour of the mighty hirsute one. The crew then started to build their ship from the inside out! samsarahContinue Reading ››

Alexander killed K’Ehleyr!

How this evaded the chief of security, a Sherlock Holmes loving Android and sophisticated forensic technology is remarkable. Found on one of the Star Trek fan groups on Facebook and posted with permission from it's original poster Allen Thompson. This theory has changed the way we think of sweet little Alexander. 12240132_1690488867864182_6495262292111857937_n By Allen Thompson.... Duras did not kill K'ehleyr! Alexander did! My evidence.. First he was a aggressive little boy that wanted to attack other children! That episode showed it. A future episode also showed he liked to lie. But let's get back to the episode that k'ehleyr was killed in. Worf comes in with Alexander to find her lying in blood. Does Alexander freak out?? No! He just stands their with almost evil stare. This little kid was not raised Klingon. He was raised more like a human. He should of freaked!! But let's continue. Worf ask who did this "Gowron?" He asked What does … Continue Reading ››

What not to buy a Trekkie for Christmas

In previous years, we have scouted the net far and wide looking for the best gifts to help give the Star Trek fan in your life that perfect prezzie. This year we thought we'd do things a bit differently. You see the problem with being such a well known fan of Star Trek is that it makes for easy gift giving. You can buy just about anything with the brand name stuck to it. Not to sound ungrateful but some products can range from weird to plain horrendous. So here's a few of our favourite 'What `the Spock, did they actually make that?' products.... The Wrath Of Khan - Spock dying - Christmas tree decoration When Hallmark were looking at Star Treks greatest moments to immortalise them, did they ever think 'Spock dying on a Christmas tree might be a bit naff?' Clearly not! You can enjoy this beautiful scene of … Continue Reading ››

Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage – Review

image We had been banging on about it for while but did it live up to the hype? Yes Sir it did! We arrived at the Royal Abert Hall early so we could meet friends and get acquainted with the bar. We were thrilled to bump into our friend Michael Clark from Visionary Trek and his friend Victoria. Photo:Mclark1701 We don't want to give spoilers about exactly what they played as the show has just started its tour but here's an overview of how it went and what you can expect. The live orchestra is positioned under a large screen that plays clips from all movies and series to accompany the music. It was split into segments that is narrated by Michael Dorn. The segments included dedications to different aspects for example; each crew, to the captains, to aliens and the Enterprise. There were also themes such as wisdom, … Continue Reading ››
