Destination Star Trek is an officially licensed Star Trek Event ran by Media 10 and Massive Events. They have hosted the largest conventions in Europe. The Trekkie Girls have been official bloggers to all four events so far and can be seen in panels or hosting.

The first event in London 2012 boasted all five captains in attendance and was hailed the largest Star Trek Event in attendance.  It always boasts a great lineup pulling in guests that haven’t been seen in the Star Trek convention circuit for year, such as Will Wheaton in 2016.

Over the years the event has grown it’s portfolio of sets, now including The Original Series bridge, The Next Generation Bridge, a Borg Alcove and Klingon Battle Bridge chair.

Considered an ‘event’ rather than a convention it hosts panels, costume contests, parties, a museum and trading stalls.

In 2016 the event smashed it’s own Guinness World Record of ‘The Most People Dressed as a Star Trek Character.

Trekkie Girls the Next Generation

Looking on like proud captains me and Sam are very excited to see our fledgling TiTs (Trekkies In Training) take to the centre stage this weekend. Me and Sam have tested them to their limits ( we made them watch the Star Trek the Motion Picture), have taught them how to survive a convention (though we are throwing them in the deep end this Saturday - lookout for the photos ) we have followed them on their journey to TrekkieGirls and we couldn't be prouder. I will be honoured to have them on stage with me this Friday 1630 for their first public appearance as we host a TiT quiz at Destination Star trek's Excelsior stage. Hopefully see you there So join us if you're attending or follow us on @TrekkieGirls, @TheOriginalTiT, @snoweycampbelle for all the latest Destination Star Trek gossip image

DST3 Guest Announcements and Ticket Sales!

Holy Rings of Betazed!! They have done it again. DST3 has pulled off an amazing lineup for this Octobers convention...

Full Line up check out www.destinationstartrek.com

Where to even start. Ok, for us, we like the massive TNG presence all bar Mon Capitaine and Wheaton. We will have you Will Wheaton...one day! These guys know how to bring fun to a convention, if you weren't able to get to DSTG/Frankfurt, then you are in for a treat. If you did see them, you know you want to see them again!

Then we got some faces we haven't seen at any DST events or even in the UK before! Jeri Ryan is a rare treasure to this island but we are super excited to see James Darren … Continue Reading ››

DST3 – Back to London Baby!

The big DST is heading home to London for it's third event! *Data Fist Pump*

There were a few slips along the way which added to the excitement and build up of the announcement. Tim Russ apparently mentioned in a tweet that he would be in London 3 - 5th October and took it down at warp speed. (We can imagine Janeway giving him the glare of doom for doing that).

Then Marina said tweeted that she would be at a DST in October this year whilst replying to a question (but she didn't remove it because she is fearless!).

The next clue was in an email from DST stating that the announcement would be exclusive on Facebook and Twitter however on some email platforms, the text under the embedded … Continue Reading ››

DST3 – Making It So

It happened!! Little over a month since Destination Star Trek Germany closes, the convention gods have speaketh and (sort of) announced a third Destination Star Trek.

As Major Kira likes to remind us, sometimes they don't speak to us direct and we have to make our own interpretations.

Well what can we tell from this message?
First thing that is certain, it's this year. This is a much quicker turn around than the loooong gap between DSTL and DSTG. Remember, no one was even sure if DSTL was a one hit wonder?

Now we're looking at two conventions in one year!

We have scoured their website for clues. None yet except for a really awesome video of DSTG (we're in it for about … Continue Reading ››

DSTG day 3

It's closing up time here at DSTG and we are sad it's all over. We spent the afternoon doing our Women of Star Trek panel which we hope raised awareness to the role of women in Star Trek and in the audiences that watch it. We are very grateful to all who came and especially those who shared their insights with everyone else. The William Shatner talk was captivating. He has an ability to answer every question with a remarkable and relevant story from his past. Karl Urban talked about his other work and quoted his own lines in character much to the audiences delight.
Did you know his three favourite films are One Flew over the Cookoos nests, Bullit and No country for old men?
The TNG bunch have the reputation for being the most close knit bunch but the same rapport … Continue Reading ››

TNG Shatner event

This was the moment we had been looking forward to all weekend. William Shatner hosting the TNG reunion event. We wanted to see how this would play out. How would the personalities of the high energy crazy TNG bunch gel with Bills larger than life persona. And we weren't disappointed, it was an hour of belly laughs that would make a Targ smile
Whilst Bill was the moderator, it was Brent who got the first question in asking how Bill felt when he heard about the Next Gen being made? You got to admire his honesty when we said "with great envy and jealousy"! The questions from the audience was electic. And yes someone snuck in a happy birthday request *collective throwing of tribbles*. Some of our favourite questions were; What other Star Trek series would you have liked to be in? Gates - The new … Continue Reading ››
