Chase Masterson and all her Jazz

As we mentioned in our previous reports and vBlogs, we had the honour and privilege of talking to some of the woman of Star Trek at last weekends The Longest Named Greatest Show In The Galaxy. However we must confess to having a soft spot for Chase Masterson. We keep saying she was a complete sweetheart (because it's true) and she is the ultimate Trekkie Girl. We wanted to dedicate an entire post to Chase, not just because she took the time to talk to us but because she always take time to spend with all the fans. That sort of contact really makes fans feel valued. Plus she thought we were teenagers! (Our holiday to Ba'ku must have done us good!) We should say that it was our first time interviewing a Star Trek … Continue Reading ››

A little break from our reporting on TGSITG. Our Interviews are coming together nicely. Just working out the best way to share them on Blogger. Meanwhile you can check out some additional pictures on our Facebook page.
We wanted to share some news about Destination Star Trek London.
Colin from Trek News and Views was able to secure an interview Jill
Ubdegrove from Media 10, the events company that is organising DSTL. We were unable to make the call as we were reporting from Peterborough but we sent Colin a list of questions in advanced and along with and Wayne from the TrekMate Podcast, they grilled Jill for information.
The interview can be found via Trek.FM or iTunes but it comes with a health warning. You will get VERY excited!!! Don’t drink too many liquids whilst listening. You … Continue Reading ››

TGSITG Day Two: Convention Report

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz5ioF_Gfok&w=320&h=266]
Day one of The Greatest Show In the Galaxy had been so incredible for us we thought Sunday would be a quieter day.  We were in for a pleasant surprise.
We had overslept so we rushed straight to the arena where we once again bumped into the staff member who had helped us get an interview with Chase on Saturday and the next thing we knew, we were interviewing Jeri Ryan! We felt like we had been stunned on a medium setting!
Jeri was an absolute delight and if we thought we were tired, she was very jetlagged but still maintained perfection.
Jeri is always surrounded by security, a sad necessity due to problems with stalkers. They were rather nice to look at all weekend though but maybe … Continue Reading ››

Star Trek London Revealed!

Six Months, Five Captains, One Destination equals Thousands of excited Trekkies! Today was the big reveal. We feel like we have died and gone to Sto Vor Kor
www.startreklondon.com William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula are all attending this incredible event.  From what we can see this is more than your average convention. There will be a bridge set for photos, original sets, props and stunt displays!? It promises to be interactive and more focused around the fans.  We thought that the event would be focused around the movie and are gratefully wrong, as this will have something for every fan.  Reason we love this event already: It has something for everyone. Not all Trekkies want the … Continue Reading ››

Star Trek London: Is this is a Clue!?

Ok we are getting a little obsessed with the Star Trek London mystery. In episode 14 of our vBlog we explain why we think the event is based around the new movie.
There is a visual clue on the registration website and the avatar on the Twitter Account. That is the new look insignia, native to the JJ movie.

However, take a look at the back ground on @StarTrek_London 's twitter homepage:

It's our good friend the Enterprise -D

Now are we reading too much into this? Does it mean something?
The Next Generation is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in September 2012 - coincidence? hmmm, … Continue Reading ››
