‘Klingon Karaoke’ on Thursday night we enjoyed listening to fans with incredible voices (and signing credentials to back them up) wow those of us mingling on the dance floor. When Connor Trinneer, Dominic Keating and Chris Doohan took to the stage, the audience were in hysterics. Then there’s the regulars who’s antics fill us casual attendees feed each August. Seeing the famous ‘Eric Allan Hall’ sing was a real treat. Eric is such a good Data cosplayer we can't say for sure that he isn't a Soong Android. Friday The day started by buying more MAC for Star Trek (we know, we don’t need to even insert the Picard face palming meme because you’re already imagining it!) Star Trek.com presented the 'Missing footage panel' with Roger Lay Jr (Producer), and the production team Michael and Denise Okuda, Phil Bishop, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. This was a panel we were very much … Continue Reading ››
In case you missed it, Bryan Fuller (Star Trek's new showrunner and our new cult leader) revealed the title of the New Star Trek Series; Star Trek Discovery (or STD as it will never be referred too). The teaser showed us a brief reveal of the USS Discovery. The reaction has been as divisive as Brexit and much like our recent political drama there has already been some backtracking with execs stating that 'its not a final design'. We have been asked by many for our opinion so here is what we think. Overall, we like it! Its design resembles a Starfleet insignia from underneath, but it is also somewhat reminiscent of a TOS era Romulan Bird of Prey. A clue to its era perhaps? Ok, so it doesn't have the sleek, sexiness of an Enterprise. But that is fine with us. Maybe it's not supposed too. It's … Continue Reading ››

Proving that Star Trek is more relevant and cooler than ever, it's getting its own Podcast! Hosted by the amazing Jordan Hoffman (UK'ers will remember him as the entertaining panel MC at Destination Star Trek 3) he is known as a film critic, writer of One Trek Mind and general Star Trek commentator favourite. An introductory episode is already online available on iTunes and Play.it where Jordan provides a synopsis of what to expect. From listening to it, there is an emphasis on encouraging new fans into our collective. Which is fantastic because as a group, as podcasters and bloggers we can be accused of being too insular. We congratulate each other on in-jokes and obscure references and without intending this could be off-putting to people wanting to join the series as such a late time. This is where we must confess, we don't really listen to podcasts. We … Continue Reading ››
Did you see it? The 'teaser' for the 2017 Star Trek series? Show runner (translation: our latest victim to twitter stalking) posted this 'teaser' for the 'teaser'. Hinting that it may contain Easter Eggs. Continue Reading ››
Rumours are floating around about the new #StarTrek series today. Pre-TNG and Prime universe perhaps? Well according to Birth.Movies.Death who has 'heard rumours'! Now let's start by establishing, this is a rumour. There's no official word and we don't accept anything as truth until it's been been announced by StarTrek.com. But for fun, let's explore this one for a minute.

- Set between The Undiscovered Country and The Next Generation.
The Trekkie Girls discuss Star Trek news from the week including Destinations Star Trek's announcement that Wil Wheaton will be attending their convention, the (now verified) fake Star Trek New Series poster and news that Star Trek Beyond had been reshooting scenes.
The announcements regarding the New Star Trek Series are beginning to read like a Trekkies dream team from an internet forum. Next they'll be telling us they've signed up William Shatner and Patrick Stewart. They'll be no complaints here! We can't help but fan girl over the latest news that Eugene 'Rod' Roddenberry has been named Executive Producer. Check out our reaction here: The series now boasts five executive producers, in addition to Rod there's also Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Trevor Roth and Bryan Fuller. It's like they want us to like it! Then of course there's the news that Nicholas Meyer has joined the series on the writing staff. Known for directing (and co-writing, uncredited) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, co-writing Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and co-writing and directing Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. So we have a good mixture of producers and writers that cover all aspects of the Star Trek Universe. From Meyer who worked … Continue Reading ››
We wish you a Trektastic 2016 and what a year we have ahead of us. It's astonishing to think this TV and movie series has gripped our planets attention for half a century. It makes us feel so young! We were going to write up a review about 2015 but like our spandex loving crewmates, we can't help but look forward into the future. Instead, here is what we have planned and our looking forward to in 2016. SF Ball. 5th - 7th February. Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton Trek guests include Jonathan Frakes, Vaughn Armstrong and Casey 'For Cardassia' Biggs. If you haven't already it worked it out.... That means the Enterprise Blues Band will also be performing! (Wonder if Frakes can actually play the Trombone?) Star Trek Beyond - 22nd July Like we did before with Star Trek … Continue Reading ››
