In Part two of our What's On posts. We look at UK events with Star Trek Guest Stars.

We have been to a few of these and they are generally well run, simple affairs. They are predominately a trading arena with lots and lots of stalls. With signing areas, photo ops and guest talks. From the ones we have been to before, the guest stars are sat in the main hall so we can stare at them and point (honestly, its like a pet shop!). But some guest stars are too precious to be left out like nerd bait for us to chew on so they store them away in secure areas.

Happy Mothers Day
We wish all the mummies a Happy Mothers Day today. Some of our favourite Star Trek mums include the infamous Lwaxana Troi, Dr Crusher and Keiko O'Brien.
Lets not forget the step mums too, Cassidy Yates and Leeta make wonderful step mothers, completely obliterating the 21st century stereotype that they are all mean. And then there is the surrogates, Kira Nerys, Deanna Troi and Trip!
But the real hero's are the Trekkie Mums back on Earth, in the present. Our Trekkie With Advanced Training - Teressa is one such mum who is on a mission to assimilate her children. We suggested she put them in a maturation chamber until they are 18 but UNICEF took offence to that plan. Instead Teressa is opting for the good old fashion approach and will be documenting her efforts for us to learn from.

What’s On: May
Normally we are jealous of all the Trek events that happen in the United States but at last it seems the UK is seeing some action. Fans in our little piece of the Alpha Quadrant have filled a big void. So we thought we'd have a look at whats to come. First up, May.....
We haven't heard of this company before (that doesn't mean anything, we couldn't name any 10 of the top 100 FTSE companies)

Star Trek London: Clue One!
We have a launch date!
Star Trek London are being as secretive as Section 31 with their plans but like all good agents they have disseminated a small piece of information to keep us guessing.
But that's not going to keep us from looking for more clues!
Today @StarTrek_London revealed the 'dates' of this mystery event....
The popular opinion amongst fans is that its The Experience which is currently touring the United States.
We have noticed that none of our great suggestions are circulating! (See previous post Is London Ready? and What is Star Trek London? )
We would have thought if it were he Experience they would host it for longer. This has to be a convention right? Oh please let this be a convention!

Is it a Convention? Is it the Experience? What is Star Trek London!?

Me and Sam have always loved to have something to get excited about. Be it the invention of a new cocktail (More Tranya?), a fabulous new uniform or the growing success of our TiTs (Trekkies In Training).
But at the moment the mystery of Star Trek London has us laying awake at night. See our first post announcing and speculating about Star Trek London
Numerous rumours and educated guesses are flying around but my hope is for something that'll get us truly excited.....
The opening of the first Starfleet academy!!! Instead of overlooking the bay of San Francisco, it can overlook the London skyline. I know it's crazy but its my hope all the same.

Many people blog about how Star Trek has influenced the development of technology or how it inspired someone to become an astronaut.
But not many people observe how Star Trek influences fashion. This is why Trekkie Girl Sam and Trekkie-With-Advanced-Training Teressa (See episode 13) headed to London Fashion Week to check it out. Fashion analysts and bloggers love to comment on themes and inspirations, so we have too: We started off with some TNG Retro inspiration in the Jasper Conran show. Although it could pass off as TOS, its clearly a tribute to the blonde and buff bodies of Rubicun III. Got to love those Edo!

Ready!? We're as ready as blood-fevered Vulcan trapped inside Janeway's ready room.
But ready for what? Let's get all Sherlock Holmes like....
Here's what we know. All the Trek News sites have got a press release with this link.....
Its official, the imprint is CBS. The insignia says New Movie (derrr I know!)
They are organising 'something' in London and from the press releases it looks like October.
Possibilities:
Favoured option one - They are filming here. Maybe they have gone back in the past to the eugenics wars and need to find a city that oozes of 1992?

So JJ is upset about the photos that were leaked from the movie set. Upset!? I'd be furious! Have they got a Ferengi in charge of security?
We happened to get a glimpse of one of these pictures, for a split second. Its hard to avoid spoilers and images like that when you're engaged in the Star Trek community.
It's not just a shame that someone took these photo's but that it spread like a tribble epidemic. We were enjoying the mystery of not knowing whether Cumberbatch was playing a Talosian or a Klingon.
Eventually details will be revealed but I think the build up and the way information is released is all part of the excitement and magic of movie making.
'Spoilers' is an appropriate name for leaks.
